Welcome to the Amsterdam Tourist Ferry
Unique boat excursions to the defence line of Amsterdam, included on the Unesco World Heritage List!
Extending 135 km around the city of Amsterdam, the defence line of Amsterdam is the only example of a fortification based on the principle of controlling the waters. Two unique sites that are part of the defence line are the Fortress island Pampus and the Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot. At a stone’s throw from Amsterdam you will go back in time for a taste of real Dutch history.
April 2nd through Oktober 30th we sail 6 days a week to these Unesco sites. On Mondays the ferry service is closed.
As of this year, with the support of Amsterdam Marketing you can bring your (rental)bike on board and discover rural Amsterdam and the fortress stretch to or from our ferryservice!
Our traditional boats take you out on the former Zuiderzee, where the Dutch East and West Indian Company ships sailed to and from Amsterdam for centuries. The starting point of the ferry service however is at the marina in the yóungest part of Amsterdam: Amsterdam IJburg. This 21st century developed peninsula offers great new architecture, as well as nice restaurants around the marina. And just around the corner you’ll also find the Amsterdam Beach, called Blijburg! From the boat you can see the latest development in progress; new land is created just outside the marina. This is how Amsterdam grew bigger from medieval times into the 21st century.
With tram 26 from Amsterdam Central Station you’ll be at the Amsterdam tourist ferry in only 15 minutes.
See you on board!
